SOUCHE
When Souche asked us to design his website, we considered a couple of facts. He's prolific. His works' titles are the artworks' clue and they often could be tabloïds' titles. He's an addicted reader of "l'équipe" the french sports daily newspaper.

In many way a descendent of Dada, often labelled as Belgian work, the apparent simplicity of Fabien Souche (aka Souche)'s universe is however the result of a reflection expressed in minute detail. The artist looks, filters his artistic and political environment, observes the broad contempory themes very precisely, and plays with references.
He leaves behind facile aesthetics so as to show us the bare idea or at least in its most simple expression, with just enough material for it to exist entirely.
The resulting objects mix together derision, extravagance and black humour.
